Abstract
When asked “Where is your home?”, there are usually two ways to answer. The street, house number, postal code, city, region and state is one, while the other tends to be slightly more complicated. Coming from an artistic background, the direction this thesis will follow, is exactly after the second one. Based on daily conversations, cinematography, art, history, psychology and followed by a study survey of 81 participants, it has become evident how many people do not feel at home. There is a constant need for intimacy, comfort, understanding and peace of mind, that is pushing, especially young adults, on the roads of seeking home. Author’s creative solution consists on creating an immersive exhibition that will allow people to become more vulnerable, acknowledge their wants and needs and build their own personalized space based on them. This becomes possible through going beyond the surface of home and its physical structure, by exploring the psychological side and past journey it took to become an intangible feeling and state of being.
